Biography
Timothy Huang earned his doctoral degree in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at the University of Minnesota and joined West Chester University in 2020. He is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who has worked at a wide array of school settings. His research focuses on child language, social communication, and autism spectrum disorder. His long-term research goal is to develop efficacious intervention approaches that can help this population participate fully across social settings and build close relationships with their friends and family. Outside of the University, Dr. Huang is serving as the Vice President of the Asian Pacific Islander Speech-Language-Hearing Caucus . He oversees the Caucus' mentorship program by pairing mentor-mentees with similar clinical interests and linguistic background to facilitate their professional development in the field. Dr. Huang is a journalist by training, a foodie by curiosity, a science enthusiast by fascination, and a theater nerd by inclination. Some of his favorite musicals include Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, Dear Evan Hansen, and Hamilton.
