Biography
Dr. Sawyer is an experienced educator with 18 years of college teaching, program development, and research. He is founding Partner of Group V, LLC. an executive management consulting practice specializing in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, risk assessment, and security. Dr. Sawyer has also founded two other successful companies. One developed and manufactured high speed 3 dimensional inspection systems. The other manufactures physical security systems incorporating access control, alarm monitoring, and closed circuit TV to provide a full security platform for multi-campus enterprises. He has assisted over 20 companies develop successful business plans and engineered 3 successful turnarounds: two private and one public. Dr. Sawyer has written for both academic journals and professional magazines. He has spoken on early stage business development, risk assessment, and electronic security. An expert in physical security and video analytics, he has done work for the DOD, DHS, USDA, Department of State, Department of the Interior, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
Specialties: Dr. Sawyer has a strong background in college teaching and administration as well as strategic planning, business plan development, turnaround management. He is also a recognized technical expert in risk assessment, video and image analysis, and physical security.
