Dr.%20Kerrie%20Ocasio%20is%20a%20macro%20and%20generalist%20practice%20social%20worker%20with%20BASW,%20MSW,%20Ph.D.%20degrees.%20She%20joined%20WCU%20following%20three%20years%20as%20an%20Assistant%20Research%20Professor%20at%20the%20Rutgers%20University%20School%20of%20Social%20Work.%20Ocasio%20utilizes%20her%20social%20work%20practice%20experience%20promoting%20child%20and%20family%20well-being,%20conducting%20strategic%20planning,%20and%20developing%20and%20evaluating%20services%20to%20educate%20the%20next%20generation%20of%20social%20workers.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%0AAs%20a%20scholar,%20the%20purpose%20of%20her%20research%20is%20to:%20Understand%20the%20effects%20of%20foster%20care%20and%20legal%20or%20relational%20permanency%20on%20children%20and%20families;%20improve%20the%20quality%20of%20services%20provided%20by%20child%20welfare%20agencies%20and%20related%20systems;%20and%20contribute%20to%20racial%20and%20economic%20justice%20in%20the%20child%20welfare%20system.
