Title IX

This is a portion of the Educational Amendments of 1972 that prohibits discrimination based on sex.

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

West Chester University Fall 2020 Title IX Open Forum (October 28, 2020)

In May 2020, the US Department of Education released the Final Title IX Rule; federal regulations that (effective August 14, 2020) dictate how the University addresses, investigates, and adjudicates sexual and interpersonal violence and harassment. This open forum highlighted the changes as it relates to students who report misconduct and students who are accused of misconduct, as well as share added Title IX resources. Title IX Training

In compliance with section 106.5 of the Title IX Final Rules, West Chester University provides all materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators, decision-makers, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution process.
