The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Shop performs the regular and routine maintenance of equipment for WCU’s educational and general buildings, along with overall maintaining Sykes Student Union and Student Recreation Center.  The shop’s primary function is to prevent unplanned equipment failure and ensure optimal functionality of equipment.  Utilizing our TMA scheduling system, the maintenance schedule may involve cleaning, lubrication, repairs, or replacement of certain parts.   

Preventive maintenance is important for several reasons including: 

• Maximize the lifecycle & reliability of equipment.
• Reduces downtime of unexpected equipment failures
• Reduces safety risks.
• Reduces cost of repairs.
