Bio
Dr. Julie McCulloh Nair's professional goal is to improve the health status of vulnerable populations through research and public health initiatives designed to deliver essential knowledge and address the current social ecological issues. Early in her career, she practiced nursing in a variety of settings, including acute care in trauma level facilities, rehabilitation facilities and community and public health settings.
McCulloh Nair has more than a decade of higher education experience instructing undergraduate and graduate nursing students on a variety of topics that include ethics, research, leadership/management, public health and transcultural healthcare. As a Nurse Scientist embedded in a healthcare system, McCulloh Nair leads research studies in partnership with Health Equity personnel to identify and address barriers to care for vulnerable populations. They are currently investigating health equity solutions for limited English proficient (LEP) individuals in the acute care setting using qualitative and mixed methods designs. In this role, McCulloh Nair also mentor nurses through the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing research and evidence-based practice projects.
