I have been working in the human services and social work profession for over 20 years. The work that I have done has been varied and involved working with children and families in various capacities. I have worked directly with youth that were being detained in the Philadelphia Detention center. I have worked as direct case manager and investigator of abuse and neglect for the city of Philadelphia Department of Human services. While work at DHS I was able to establish that DHS youth mentoring program for the male youth who reside in Philadelphia. I have worked directly with the former Philadelphia deputy police commissioner to establish the Philadelphia Police School arrest diversion program. Most recently I have been working with the Philadelphia Office of Grants Management to secure funding for a program that will reduce the trauma youth experience when being detained by police officers.
