We'd love to have you volunteer in the Gordon! See descriptions of past volunteer activities below, and email us if you're interested in helping out.

Volunteering

 

There are a range of opportunities that you can contribute to throughout the year. Activities vary seasonally and include:

'Light' Trail Maintenance (walking the trails and trimming brush, picking up trash, etc.)
'Heavy Trail Maintenance' (repairing eroded trail sections, removing downed trees, etc.)
Seed Collecting
Tree planting
Native Plant Nursery work
Invasive Species Removal
What would you like to do??

If you would like to volunteer at the GNA, you'll need to fill out a Volunteer Waiver Form and bring it with you the first time that you come. Note: Those under 18 will also need their parent's signature.

There is also the possibility of helping with office work, such as data entry, data proofing, developing content for the kiosk and website, etc. Note: The Volunteer Waiver form is not required for office work.

Donating

Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated! We're always looking to expand the scope of the work that we do at the GNA and additionally funding will allow us to maximize our restoration and protection efforts.

To make a donation:

  1. Go to the WCU Foundation Donation Page;
  2. In the 'Fund' menu at the bottom of the page;
  3. Enter the amount that you want to donate;
  4. Select 'Enter A Fund' and then type in 'Gordon Natural Area' in the box that appears.
