Academic Standing Policy

A student’s scholastic standing at the University is indicated by his or her cumulative grade point average (CGPA). An Undergraduate Student remains in good academic standing as long as he or she maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 for all work taken at the University. A Graduate Student remains in good standing as long as he or she maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all work taken at the university. Academic probation occurs after the first semester the student’s CGPA falls below 2.0. If the student’s CGPA does not improve above 2.0 after this probationary semester, dismissal actions are taken by the University. Dismissal can be appealed. Students may be considered for readmission one year following the dismissal. Students will complete an Academic Progress Plan during probation and following any return after dismissal. See details about this policy and appeals in the Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs.
