Annual Leadership Awards
The Annual Student Leadership Awards recognizes students, student organizations, faculty and staff, for their contributions to the campus and greater community. Nominations open on January 21, 2025 and close Monday, March 21, 2025 at 11:59 pm. Any questions can be directed to involvement@wcupa.edu.
All nominators and nominees are invited to attend the 28th Annual Leadership Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 24th at 4:00pm in the SECC Ballrooms.
How do I submit a letter?
Simply attach a typed letter of support (one page or less, single-spaced, no smaller
then size 10 font) for an individual or group whom you feel is deserving of one of
the awards listed OR fill in the box area on the electronic submission sheet to explain
why your nominee(s) is/are worthy of consideration. Please include your name and email
address on the nomination letter, as well as the full name and email address of the
person you are nominating (if known).
Only one page? Yes, we only accept a one-page nomination, but it can be single-spaced with narrow margins. Because of the number of award nominations we receive, we have found that nominators can do a great job of nominating with just one page.
Who can nominate?
Letters will only be accepted from current students, WCU faculty/staff, and recent
alumni (defined as May 2024 and December 2024 graduates). Individuals and groups can
be nominated several times by different people - there is no limit to the number of
nominations that a group or individual receives. Nominees may self-nominate.
Nomination letters are due NO LATER THAN March 21, 2025 at 11:59 pm.
All nominators and nominees are invited to attend the 28th Annual Leadership Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 24th at 4:00pm in the SECC Ballrooms.

Off-Campus and Commuter Services Awards
Research shows that off-campus and commuter students are more involved and engaged
in their community than their residential counterparts. OCCS’s core departmental values
underscore the importance of active citizenship, advocacy, and community partnership.
To highlight the good work of off-campus and commuter students, each year OCCS recognizes
three exceptional undergraduate off-campus or commuter students who are deeply engrained
in service in ways that align with the department’s core values.
Only off-campus and commuter students are qualified to apply. Each winner will receive
$100, donated to a charity or organization of their choice in their name. Nominations
will be reviewed by OCCS staff, and winners will receive recognition for their work
during the Spring Student Leadership Awards.
