Co-Curricular Learning
Our goal is to partner with faculty to complement their curriculum, supplement the classroom experience, and provide professional development opportunities for paraprofessionals employed in the Center for Women and Gender Equity. Many of our presentations are facilitated by paid peer educators. A partnership between Center for Women and Gender Equity staff and faculty/staff ensure a successful experience for your students.

Signature Events
On April 2, 2025, the Center for Women & Gender Equity will host the 5th Annual Gender Justice Conference (GJC)—a day dedicated to dialogue, learning, and community. Held in Sykes Student Union, mainly in the Ballroom and expanding into various rooms throughout the day, this year’s conference invites attendees to engage in dynamic discussions and collaborative learning. This year’s theme, "Come As You Are: Resistance, Joy & Autonomy," invites attendees to explore the ways we challenge oppression, celebrate identity, and cultivate spaces of self-authorship.
The GJC is open to all, offering a unique opportunity for students, faculty, and community members to engage with groundbreaking research, share ideas, and connect with others who are passionate about gender justice. Throughout the day, attendees can attend breakout sessions, each focused on key issues such as resistance through joy, dismantling leadership barriers tied to gender identity, coalition-building, and strategies for fostering lasting social change.
