This summer, assistant professor John Bellomo will attend the La MaMa Umbria Director’s Symposium in Spoleto, Italy. Faction of
Fools Theatre Company in Washington, DC will workshop his new play for young audiences
Bravo, Zan Angelo! adapted from the children’s book of the same name by author Niki
Daly.
Constance Case was granted tenure this summer and promoted to Associate Professor. Case designed
costumes for Sensitive Guys at Arcadia University, The Rivals at Albright College.
She is currently designing costumes for faculty Liz Staruch’s next dance for film
project centered on the Bauhaus performance connections. This year, she arranged and
hosted a special effects workshop for our WCU students on props construction and special
effect makeup with Greg Schrantz from season 10 of Face Off. Case also presented at
the RECAP conference this summer at WCU on a panel for e-texts.
Assistant Professor Charlie Delmarcelle will lead the inaugural season of the Pennsylvania Theatre Institute at WCU, with
summer camps for Young Company (ages 10-14) and a Pre-College Intensive. Click here

and Theatre Company’s The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane for which they received
a Barrymore Award for Best Ensemble, and EgoPo’s The Lydie Breeze Trilogy written
by John Guare that was a world premiere featured in American Theatre Magazine. His
2018-2019 season includes the Arden’s Once, Delaware Theatre Company’s Saint Joan,
and A Fierce Kind of Love sponsored by Philadelphia Fringe Arts.
Martin Dallago, assistant professor and department production manager, is the scenic designer for
three Upper Darby Summer Stage productions including the mainstage musical 42nd Street
and children’s production A Year with Frog and Toad and Freckleface Strawberry. He
is also a detail designer on a current project with Scenery First, Inc. and Carnival
Cruise Lines, and attended both RECAP and KCACTF Region II conferences, presenting
a workshop at the latter called “Stage Managing Without Scripts.” Dallago was the
projection designer for Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill at WCU and will production
manager for this show’s participation at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
This July, associate professor Leonard Kelly will attend the Fitzmaurice Voicework Freedom and Focus Conference in London.
Associate Professor Liz Staruch attended the American College Dance Association National Festival at the Kennedy
Center in DC this summer. Staruch was appointed Regional Director of the Mid-Atlantic
North (DE, DC, MD and PA) and is currently serving as chair for the national fundraising
committee. Next up is taking Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill that she directed
and choreographed for WCU to the Philadelphia Fringe Festival this fall. She is also
currently working on a new dance for film project, A Thing is Determined by Its Nature,
with costume faculty Constance Case and three WCU alumni dancers. The work incorporates
theory and practice of the Bauhaus art movement as it celebrates its 100th anniversary
in 2019. The project will culminate with an art installation in the Knauer Gallery
at WCU in February 2019.
Dance faculty and associate professor Maria Urrutia is touring with Supper, People on the Move with Cardell Dance Theater, funded by
the New England Foundation for the Arts travel grant. This past fall, they performed
at the Historic Black Mountain College Museum in Ashville, NC and will head to the
Ferst Center, Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, Dance Complex in Boston and Sandy
Spring Museum in Sandy Spring, Maine this coming year.
Juliet Wunsch, associate professor, is working with university community to develop and integrate
the new General Education program and looks forward to teaching a pilot first year
experience course in Fall 2018.

Casey Bricker '17 is teaching summer technique and competition workshops at the Greater Dover Dance
Academy in Dover, PA.
Olivia Damore '17 will spend her summer touring through the greater Philadelphia area in a production
of Peter Pan with Family Stages. Damore was also a featured soloist at the First Presbyterian
Church of Germantown. The work, “Plenty Good Room,” was arranged and published by
adjunct professor of voice, Jesse Padgett.
Carley England '17 recently choreographed and performed in a music video that debuted at the Delaware
Art Museum during their Celebration of Hispanic Arts on April 17th. View her performance.
Maureen Farley '19 is a theatre camp counselor with the Abington YMCA in Abington, PA this summer.
Megan Fitzwater '17 earned a general management internship with the Philadelphia Theatre Company for
the summer. Additionally, she works in front of house management at the Delaware Theatre
Company in Wilmington, DE.
Stacey Keba '19 will be a camp counselor at Interlochen Summer Arts Camp in Michigan this summer.
She will also teach theatre camps at Lights, Camera, Acting: Theatre Fun for Everyone
in Doylestown, PA.
Kari Lochstoer '17 will be playing Andrina/Ensemble in the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company's production
of The Little Mermaid.
Julie Peterson '18 is working with the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, PA as a summer camp counselor
at Camp Walnut.
Janice Rabian '17 is working with Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre as an intern in the wardrobe department.
Meghan Mary Reed '18 is the musical theatre intern at Walnut Street Theatre this summer. In addition,
she is the lighting designer and an instructor at Haddonfield Theatre Arts Center
in New Jersey.
Krysta Stefanosky '17 will be working with the Jennersville YMCA as an assistant theatre camp counselor.
Also this summer, she'll be playing Sandy in Avon Grove Theatre's production of Grease.
Christin Thomas '17 is working at Delaware Theatre Company as a patron experience associate. Performance
wise, she'll be seen in Grease this summer with the Avon Grove Theatre. A number of our students are working with the Steel River Playhouse in Pottstown,
PA in a variety of positions. They include Charley Bloomfield '19, Samantha Funk '19, Kyla Jacobs '18, Curtis Jaeger '19 (music director) and Lauren Tetlow '18.
