Dr. Richard D. Parsons teaches courses including Counseling Theories, Consultation, Helping Skills, Field Experience and post-master's licensing courses. Professor Parsons has authored or co-authored over 80 professional articles and book chapters, including 33 books. In addition, he and his colleague, Dr. Naijian Zhang have created and edited a seminal series of over 20 texts for Sage Publications entitled “Counseling and Professional Identity in the 21st Century”. Dr. Parsons has been named a member of American Men and Women of Science and American Catholic Who's Who and received the Pennsylvania Counseling Association's Counselor of the Year award.
