Dr. Siegel earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver and her M.A. in Educational Equity for Diverse Exceptional Learners from the University of New Mexico. Prior to joining the West Chester faculty, Dr. Siegel was a faculty member at Arcadia University, worked for the Washington Department of Education (OSPI), and was affiliate faculty at the University of Colorado, Denver in partnership with the Teacher Institute at La Academia. Dr. Siegel began her career teaching middle school special education and English Language Arts in Albuquerque, NM, Seattle, WA, and Denver, CO.

Dr. Siegel’s research includes the experiences of LGBTQ faculty and preservice professionals; new applications of qualitative coding; culturally responsive pedagogies; and out of school learning. She's published research in journals including Reflective Practice, Teaching Education, The Qualitative Report, and The Journal of Curriculum and Teaching.
