Graduation and program completion requirements
PROGRAM COMPLETION/VERIFICATION STATEMENT
The West Chester University dietetic internship is a full-time, 11-month program. The DI requires successful completion of the requirements for the program and all rotations. Interns must demonstrate both academic and clinical competence by completing the required credits, maintain a B average and receive moderate rating in all learning outcomes to be awarded the Verification Statement. MSCN/DI students must complete the 42-credit master’s program before the verification statement will be issued. Post-masters certificate program students must complete the15-credit certificate program before the verification statement will be issued.
A verification statement to Commission for Dietetic Registration (CDR) specifying that the intern has completed the program may be delayed or withheld if an intern does not demonstrate entry level competence based on the evaluations from the academic faculty and/or staff of supervised practice affiliations. In accordance with CDR eligibility requirements to take the Registration Examination, the interns will be provided with a signed verification statement after completion of all program requirements.
