Educational Discounts & System Requirements
Students may purchase recommended laptops models at a discounted student rate from these vendors Apple, Dell, or Lenovo (view Lenovo model promotional flyer here ). Computer Labs
WCU provides public computer lab access in several areas on campus including the FHG
Library and Sykes Student Union. Many departments also have specific labs in academic
buildings with specialized equipment or software specific for course work.
Equipment Lending Programs
West Chester University has the following resources available for Students who require access to a computer or loaner laptop:
FHG Library Short-term Lending (7 days):
Laptops can be checked out for a short-term loan in-person at the FHG Library circulation
desk.
Academic Success Program (ASP):
The Academic Success Program is a special admissions program for incoming students.
ASP students can go to Lawrence 231 to request an ASP loaner laptop.
College of Education and Social Work (including student teachers in other colleges):
The CESW Tech Center provides loaner laptops to social work practicum students and
student teachers across the university. The CESW Tech Center also loans additional
equipment to students throughout the College of Education and Social Work. There
may be laptops available on a case-by-case basis after student teachers and practicum
students are provided for. If you are a student teacher or social work practicum
student in need of a laptop or a CESW student who would like to borrow equipment,
please contact the CESW Tech Center if you would like to make a reservation.
The IS&T Loaner Program (Long-Term Loan Program up to 2 semesters):
IS&T Loaner Program is part of the Moonshot for Equity initiative at the university with the goal of providing equitable access to technology
resources for students demonstrating need for the equipment. There are a limited number
of laptops available and requests will be reviewed working with the Financial Aid
office. If you would like to request a loaner device, please login to ServiceNow and complete a formal request.

Resources for Parents and Alumni
Parent Portal
Students have the capability to delegate access to the following areas: Course History, Student Grades, View Account Summary, View Addresses, View Class Schedule, View Financial Aid Awards and View Financial Aid Alerts.

Post-Graduation Account Access
To adhere with PASSHE legal counsel regarding use of university resources and commonwealth property including compliance with software licensing requirements as well as information security best practices, WCU Students will no longer retain their campus email account after they have graduated from the university. Accounts will be disabled and deleted 90 days upon graduation.
