In 2022, the Wells School of Music celebrated the generous gift of the Bob & Darlene Curnow Jazz Library. In the mid 2000’s, Bob donated over 1200 pieces of music from his Sierra Music publishing catalog for the Criterions music library. With this new donation, Bob donated over 800 pieces of music separated into full performance books of the original arrangements of Count Basie, Maynard Ferguson, Bill Holman, Stan Kenton, Pat Metheny/Curnow Project, Shorty Rogers, Radiohead, Oliver Nelson, Holiday Music, Doc Severinsen, Les Hooper, and the Bob Curnow Big Band. Along with the music the collection includes over 38 boxes of materials including: original manuscripts, personal papers, photos, press clippings, books on jazz and arranging, study scores, LPs of entire Kenton catalog, important vocalist LPs, hundreds of CDs, music from Hollywood Bowl Concerts conducted by Bob, reel-to-reel tapes of historic recordings, among other items.

Over the next few months, we will be adding a full catalog of all materials in the Library, along with digitized images of some of the more treasured elements of the collection.
