Welcome to the West Chester University Speech and Hearing Clinic

Our mission is to provide free, high-quality speech-language pathology and audiology diagnostic and rehabilitative services for all individuals while maintaining excellence in clinical education for pre-professional clinicians.
 

The Clinic offers free, full diagnostic evaluations for children and adults suspected of having speech, language, or hearing disorders. Treatment is offered in both individual and group settings and bilingual Spanish-English evaluations and treatment are available.

Using the latest equipment, technologies, and assessment tools, the diagnostic team provides comprehensive evaluations. Graduate student clinicians have access to the latest technology used to perform advanced diagnostic procedures.

All therapies and testing are free of charge.

Hearing Related Services Overview  

Our clinic provides a wide array of hearing assessment and therapy services. We use state of the art, modern diagnostic assessment technology to assess patients ranging from infants to adults using middle ear immittance measurements, diagnostic testing, and hearing in noise assessments. We also provide Auditory Processing evaluations for any individual age seven and older.

The clinic offers services for those interested in modifying aspects of their communication including accent modification, professional speaking, and voice training.

Staffing & Student Involvement  

 

Graduate students clinicians are supervised by speech-language pathologists and audiologists, all holding professional certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensure from the state of Pennsylvania. Clinical Supervisors use state-of-the-art video technology to observe students during clinical sessions. 

Clinic Hours & Offerings

Therapy sessions run by graduate student clinicians are offered once or twice a week during the fall and spring semesters. Summer programs are offered throughout the day during the month of July.

Please note, clinic hours follow the West Chester University Academic Calendar

Fall & Spring Semester Hours:

Monday – Friday, appointments are available at 1:30, 2:30, 4:30 & 5:30 during fall & spring semester sessions.

Summer Hours:

Regular Clinic Services are offered during West Chester University’s second summer session.
Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic is available during both summer sessions.
Monday – Friday, appointments are available at TIMES.

Referrals

Do you or someone close to you have a diagnosed or suspected communication disorder? The Clinic accepts referrals from community agencies, former clients and their families and friends, physicians and other health-care professionals, private industry, and public schools, as well as self-referrals.
