  High School Dual Enrollment Program

West Chester University is pleased to offer a Dual Enrollment Program to qualified, local high school students. Participants will be enrolled in the same courses as our college students and earn the same college credits through West Chester University. All students who participate in our Dual Enrollment Program will be taught by renowned faculty, learn in a true collegiate environment and gain skills in critical thinking and reasoning.

It is the responsibility of the student and their high school principal or guidance counselor to verify the student:

  1. will be making satisfactory process towards fulfilling applicable secondary school graduation requirements, as determined by the school district
  2. has demonstrated readiness for college-level coursework in the intended subject area of study and believes the student will be able to work independently
  3. is mature enough to accept the freedom and responsibilities associated with classroom behavior expectations, interaction with college students, and the exposure to the social and intellectual challenges of a college campus

Parents should also be aware that enrolling in a university course exposes students to a more diverse curriculum and culture, therefore they could potentially be exposed to material some may deem inappropriate for minors.

In order to participate, students must meet the minimum admission requirements and supply the necessary supporting documentation.

  • Signature of principal or guidance counselor on the High School Registration Form verifying the points listed above.

*Sophomore applicants are required to submit a letter from their principal or guidance counselor explaining their academic and dispositional readiness for college-level coursework.
