Applied Statistics

• To  introduce students to the basic ideas and methods of probability theory.
• To encounter the rich diversity of applications of probability theory in the sciences.
• To develop a probabilistic foundation in preparation for the study of mathematical statistics.

This course will cover the areas of Counting and Probability, Bayes' Theorem, Discrete Distributions, Continuous Distributions, Moment Generating Functions, Multivariate Distributions, Marginal and Conditional Distributions, Independence and Expected Values and Order Statistics.
