Study Abroad

The Department of Languages and Cultures offers many opportunities to study in a foreign country. Study Abroad is strongly recommended for all language majors and minors, as being immersed in the language and culture you are studying is the only way to better understand it, and to become more fluent and proficient in the language.

Students can select short-term programs in the Summer and Winter Sessions, or longer programs for a semester or year-long program. Students can choose to study through the programs offered in the Department of Languages and Cultures (taught or advised by our own Faculty), or to select an appropriate program through the Center of International Programs on campus (check their website for information and list of programs abroad).

We encourage you to plan about Studying Abroad ahead of time and to discuss your ideas and plans with your academic advisor.
